Be aware, be prepared!

Hurricane Preparedness 

Since we're only 17 days away from the start of Hurricane Season in Florida, it's time to come up with a plan of action in case one happens to head our way. Thanks to NOAA, they have provided a comprehensive list of items that belong in survival kit. 

  • Water (at least 1 gallon daily per person for 3 to 7 days)
  • Food (at least enough for 3 to 7 days) non-perishables 
  • Keys
  • Non-electric can opener
  • Cooking tools/Fuel
  • Paper plates/Plastic utensils
  • Blankets/Pillows
  • Clothing (seasonal/rain gear/sturdy shoes)
  • First Aid Kit/Medicines/Prescription Drugs
  • Toiletries/Hygiene items/Moisture wipes
  • Flashlight & Batteries
  • Battery operated radio
  • Telephones (fully charged cell w/extra battery & a non cordless)  
  • Cash (small bills) 
  • Credit Card (Banks & ATMs may be down for extended periods)
  • Waterproof container for important documents
  • Tools (keep a set with you during the storm)
  • Vehicle fuel tanks filled
  • Pet care items (Proper ID/Shot records/Rx/Ample food & water, pet carrier/cage, muzzle & leash)
